I was SO excited to associate shooting this wedding for Michelle Angeli Photography at Straus Home Ranch. If you missed it, check out the blog post from their engagement session here – also at Straus Home Ranch 🙂
I will admit the day started off a little rocky – if you read the blog post about their engagement session, you’ll know that there was a crazy storm a few days prior and then we were blessed with gorgeous weather. Well.. the morning of the wedding it unfortunately rained in Tomales and it caused a power outage. Fortunately there was a generator out in one of the barns for the girls to get ready but most everyone hadn’t showered yet. This also made the eucalyptus grove a bit muddy and caused for a change of plans regarding the ceremony space.
Despite all of the obstacles and running way behind schedule, it was still such a fun and beautiful day and Sami and Ian had such a go-with-the-flow, positive attitude about everything. That’s truly the way to go about it on your wedding day – once the day arrives, there’s nothing left to do but go with the flow, accept what you can’t control, and just celebrate and enjoy this wonderful time with your friends and family.
Sami and Ian’s ceremony ended up being in front of the house, which was so beautiful. Sami’s sister did the floral arrangements and did an incredible job, everything was absolutely stunning. A couple of their close friends did a couple readings, they exchanged vows and lots of laughter and happy tears were had.
After the ceremony, we did end up going up to the eucalyptus grove and I was so stoked about it because we hadn’t gotten the chance to go up there during their engagement session a couple days prior. Everything ended up being so much fun – this day was the perfect example as to why you shouldn’t hold onto things you can’t control and to just ENJOY your wedding day 🙂
