This small, boho-styled backyard wedding was one of my last weddings of the 2020 wedding season and it could not have been more perfect! I was so excited when Kayla Esparza asked me to second shoot for her in my old stomping grounds in El Dorado County. When she told me it was going to be a backyard wedding in El Dorado Hills, I knew it would be beautiful and it did not disappoint!
Kevin and Mikayla had such a sweet, intimate ceremony with only their closest friends and family. This has to be one of my favorite things to come out of covid-19 — everyone deciding to have small weddings has to do so with so much more intention and the weddings are just that much more meaningful. As much as I love and miss large weddings, it’s just such an honor to get to be a part of and capture something so much more special. These two exchanged their vows and locked handwritten love letters with a bottle of wine to open on their one year anniversary.
The ceremony and reception were all in their backyard and it was just absolutely stunning. There were tables with gorgeous flowers in cute little vases. Even the “guestbook” table was beautiful – every single detail and color was so perfect. And look at those cookies!!!
After the family and group photos, everyone gathered around with pizza and enjoyed toasts and tears and it was such a special time. Everyone had a blast eating pizza too! 10/10 recommend getting pizza for your wedding! It’s so underrated but everyone loves pizza and it’s so cost effective haha (but really).
Enjoy some wonderful photos from Kevin and Mikayla’s beautiful backyard wedding 🙂
