I had been looking forward to Andy + Kendall’s day ever since they first reached out to me. I absolutely love shooting at the MacArthur Place Hotel in Sonoma, California – it’s the perfect venue for a small, intimate elopement-style wedding.
Unfortunately, Andy being from the UK, his family couldn’t make it to their wedding due to covid-19 travel restrictions. They made the best of the situation and spent their wedding day with Kendall’s family and it was so special and emotional.
Typically, the cutting of the cake represents the “first activity” done together as a married couple. While they did cut cake, they put a little spin on their wedding day and did a “first Jenga game as a married couple” – this was probably my favorite thing that they did on their wedding day. They took it VERY seriously and the game lasted way longer than I had expected. They don’t mess around, they’re definitely professional Jenga players haha.
We took some group photos and cut the cake and Andy beat Kendall in their Jenga game. They also had a first dance on the lawn. They are seriously just so dang cute. Like, look them! SO MUCH LOVE. I just absolutely admire the two of them.
After hanging out for a bit, drinking some champagne and enjoying some live music, Kendall, Andy and I drove down the street to get some photos in the vineyards. You can’t get married in wine country and not get vineyard photos! One of the things they really wanted to do was pop some champagne and I was absolutely going to make that happen for them. It was just such a light and fun day celebrating love – exactly what a wedding day should like.
Shoutout to all of the amazing vendors who helped make their day so amazing!
