I’ve been DYING to shoot at The Old Sugar Mill in Sacramento, California for sooo long so I was stoked when Meg with Megs Marvels Photography needed a second photographer – plus it’s also getting to shoot with Meg!
Everyone started at the Hyatt Centric in downtown Sacramento. The hotel was so cute, I could have stayed there all day. As the second photographer, I got to hang out and take photos of the guys getting ready. Josh gave all of them custom flasks as gifts for helping him celebrate his marriage and I already knew they were going to be so much fun.
After the guys were ready, we all headed to The Old Sugar Mill for some fun group photos. This was a pretty large wedding party so we had a blast getting wild and creative with the group photos – my favorite group photos pose is always when the guys throw the groom in the air and this group crushed it. Josh also did a “first look” with their daughters and it was such a sweet moment.
The ceremony space was outside at the back of the venue with the brick building in the back and it was so stunning with the gorgeous florals and pampas grass/ The ceremony was a late one for this time of year so we actually had to bring out our flash during the ceremony, which was a first for me during an outside ceremony! I’ve had so much fun this year being challenged by all of the flash situations. We’re always learning and improving!
The ceremony space was beautiful but the reception space literally stopped me in my tracks. The old building had an “abandoned” vibe to it but it was decked out in string lights and the decor was stunning,
There was a mariachi band at cocktail hour that also came in and played during dinner at the reception and it was so much fun. Brooke, Josh, and their friends and family really know how to party and dance the night away – it was a blast!
