Mid 2020, I decided I wanted to do a styled shoot but had NO idea how to go about it. I didn’t know how to plan it, how to collaborate with and get vendors together, how long should be… I basically didn’t know anything about styled shoots, I just knew I wanted to do one.

After chatting with Scribner Bend Vineyards and getting in touch with Kendall at Kendall Melissa Events, I was SO excited that I was finally going to get to do my first styled wedding! I was honestly super nervous because I still wasn’t totally sure what to expect but it was so much fun! It was a really fun experience getting to know and work with more wedding vendors. It was also really cool watching all the different vendors do their thang sans all of the hustle and bustle of a typical wedding day. Seeing the other vendors putting everything together rather than just photographing the final product was a nice change of pace. All of the details were absolutely beautiful and I had a blast getting to take my time taking photos of every single detail – if you know me, you know detail photos are my absolute favorite. Also, would you even believe that it was 105 degrees that day??? Julia and Ben were troopers in her big, heavy dress and his black long sleeve shirt and they absolutely rocked it!

Doing this styled wedding was such a wonderful experience and I highly recommend all wedding vendors try to be a part of one at least once. It’s a blast, I promise! HUGE shoutout to Kendall for putting this shoot together so quickly and to all of the amazing vendors that worked hard to make it happen so beautifully! I look forward to working with all of them again in the future 🙂
