Some love stories feel cinematic from the start—and Ted and Gabs’ proposal in Paris was just that.

I first met Ted and Gabs in 2020 after we all moved into the same building. They were friends first, neighbors navigating a strange new world, and eventually they started dating. Fast forward a few years, and Ted reached out with the sweetest message: he was planning to propose to Gabs in Paris—and we realized we’d both be there at the same time. If that’s not fate, I don’t know what is???

Ted used to live in France and Gabs has always loved Paris, so it was the perfect city to start this next chapter in their love story. He originally wanted to propose in front of the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, but with construction blocking the view, we pivoted last minute to the iconic glass pyramids at the Louvre Museum. And it honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.

I tucked all my hair into a beanie so Gabs wouldn’t notice me and my long red and I creeped around the Louvre pyramids for a while until they arrived. It was a Saturday and a rare sunny January afternoon so the place was crowded with people, but I finally spotted them and it was game time — Ted got down on one knee while Gabs stood in total surprise. As I mentioned, there were tons of people everywhere but it was like time stopped and the only thing that mattered was them. The emotion, the joy, the history of the Louvre as their backdrop—it was SOOOO beautiful. They cried, I cried, we all cried.

We wandered through the Jardin des Tuileries for engagement photos, soaking in the golden light and winter charm. From quiet moments on the steps to candid laughter under the trees, it just all felt unreal. To top it off, we ended the day celebrating at Willi’s Wine Bar — a cozy Parisian spot with warm lighting and even warmer vibes. A glass of wine, a few joyful tears, and a brand new ring on her finger—what more could you ask for?
