Winter in Sonoma wine country has a magic all its own—crisp vineyard air, golden California light, and rolling hills that create the perfect setting for romance. For this Alexa + Tyenna visiting from Miami, the trip to Donum Estate was already special, but it became unforgettable when one partner got down on one knee beneath the breathtaking Donum Estate Pavilion.

The pavilion is one of Donum’s probably my favorite of the art installations on the property—an architectural masterpiece of glass and steel that filters sunlight into a dazzling rainbow of reflections. As the Alexa + Tyenna stood beneath its colorful canopy, the proposal unfolded with a backdrop of vineyards and shimmering stained-glass light. It was a moment filled with love, joy, and so much emotion.

They embraced, exchanged tears and laughter, and slipped a sparkling ring onto her finger. The vibrant colors of the pavilion made the moment even more cinematic, casting a kaleidoscope glow over every photograph.

After the “yes,” the newly engaged couple celebrated with champagne, a bouquet of fresh flowers, and a private walk through the Donum Estate’s vineyard and sculpture garden. The winter season added to the romance—clear skies, crisp breezes, and soft golden light perfect for capturing timeless proposal photographs.
