Murphy and Christina’s engagement session up at Lake Hennessey in St Helena, California was SO much fun! We thought it might rain the day of their shoot but the weather ended up being so perfect.
When we did our initial Zoom call before booking, I felt like I clicked with Christina and Murphy immediately. They have such fun personalities but are both very organized – my kind of people haha. They just seemed overall very authentic and I couldn’t wait to work with them! Christina and Murphy love hiking and outdoorsy things and I thought one of my favorite hiking trails up at Lake Hennessey would be the perfect spot for them
The week before their session I drove up to location scout the area. As I was driving to the lake and making my way up Old Howell Mountain Rd, everything was burned from the wildfires that happened last September. It was both beautiful and depressing. Luckily, the fires didn’t reach all the way to the lake and we were blessed with beautiful and luscious trees and green grass – the perfect setting.
They brought their adorable, energetic pup River along which was so exciting to be able to capture their little family. We danced, laughed and rolled around in the meadow and it was sooo much fun! I know that I say every engagement session is so fun but they really are all such a blast! I love getting to know my couples before their wedding because it helps me better capture their personalities on the big day 🙂
One part of this engagement session that I thought was super cool was that Christina and Murphy also booked an engagement session with their videographer, Colin with Feather Stone Films. Colin was such a blast to work with and I can’t wait to see how their engagement video turns out and I REALLY can’t wait for their wedding at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St Helena, California next spring!
