Another day, another redwood engagement session! But for real, I had A TON of engagement shoots in the redwoods (both Oakland and Muir Woods) in the last couple months but this one ended with a little twist..
First of all, HOW CUTE ARE THESE TWO??? Sam and James are so adorable together and they were just such a genuine couple. Everything started as planned – we met up at a path in Oakland near the Chabot Space and Science Center and headed into the redwoods. It was SUPER windy that day and I was a little concerned when I was driving there that it was going to be TOO windy. But luckily, we were tucked into the trees and we weren’t affected by the wind at all!
We had SO much fun in the redwoods! I love guiding couple in goofy ways to get those cute, genuine smiles and Sam and James crushed it. We walked, danced, twirled – all the things!
Then it was time for an outfit change annnddd…. Sam forgot her pants in the dryer at home! We could have easily just continued the shoot in the same outfit but that’s no fun! We love a little spontaneity and staying on our toes. So we quickly pulled up Google Maps and thought of multiple potential game plans, left the redwoods and headed to Pleasant Hill.
Our original back up plan when we left Oakland was to go to Briones Regional Park but the sun was setting quickly and we had to redirect. So Sam and James went home and grabbed the forgotten pants (lol) and then we met up at a tiny little park in Pleasant Hill called Dinosaur Park. There was just a little bit of sun left before it dipped before the mountains, the wind was blowing around all that luscious, green grass and it was the perfect spot to end the day!
