I’ve been shooting a TON of engagement sessions in the redwoods lately and as much as I love the redwoods, it was a breath of fresh air when Lauren and Cory told me they were thinking of doing their session at the beach. I was so excited to finally meet them – I felt like we all clicked right from the start during our initial Zoom call meeting. I was actually telling them during their session that I was SO excited when they booked me for their wedding because they just seemed like all around good, fun people.
I was location scouting for more locations to shoot in Bodega Bay, California about a month before their session and I completely forgot how freaking beautiful Bodega Head is. I recommended it to Lauren and Cory, along with a few other spots, and I was so excited when they chose this location! There’s so much variety at Bodega Head, from the cute little beach to the succulent-filled cliffs to the grassy hills – so many photo spots!!!
When we got to Bodega Head, it was SO windy. But these two were troopers and powered through the wind, the freezing water and the cold, grainy sand and it was sooo worth it for all of the fun and the pretty photos. If it’s windy for your session, I highly recommend just embracing it, going with the flow and having a great time and the photos will always be so fun to look back on. We were also blessed with an absolutely gorgeous sunset!
I’m so stoked for their wedding next year. If their families are anything like them, I know it’s going to be so much fun. Stay tuned! 🙂
